Great care, competitive rates: a health plan that’s the best of both worlds

If you’re shopping for a health plan, you may find that you have a number of choices. Ideally, you’d like to get the best care possible for the least amount of money. But how can you be sure that you’ll receive quality care? And that there won’t be any surprise medical costs?

With a Kaiser Permanente plan, you can get the best of both worlds — great care and competitive rates.

KP Washington health planGreat care lives here

Our HMO health plan was named the top-performing health plan in the country.1 And the top plan for managing chronic conditions and helping patients get and stay healthy.1 When you need care, you can rely on Kaiser Permanente doctors, the highest-ranked medical group in the state.2

Care when and where you want

At Kaiser Permanente, not only can you receive great care, but you have many ways to get it. Make an appointment to see a doctor at one of our 25 medical offices. Walk in to a CareClinic by Kaiser Permanente at 15 Bartell Drug locations. Get an online diagnosis for common conditions and a prescription if needed. Call our Consulting Nurse helpline anytime day or night. When you receive care at our medical offices, you’ll find doctors, pharmacists, X-ray, and lab tests, all usually under one roof.

You have plenty of choice

Competitive prices

Because care through our medical offices is highly efficient and effective, we’re able to keep our rates very competitive.

Typically, a lower cost plan means a higher deductible and out-of-pocket maximum. (A deductible is how much you pay before your insurance kicks in. Out-of-pocket maximum is the most you’ll have to pay for health care in a given year.)

However, low-cost plans now have a built-in safety net. Out-of-pocket maximums cannot exceed the amounts set by the federal government for individual and family plans. Plus, your share of the costs — including copays, your portion of the medical bill, and deductible — apply toward the out-of-pocket maximum. This wasn’t always the case.

The Kaiser Permanente difference

Our approach is to help keep you from getting sick in the first place. So we provide you with tools, information, and inspiration to help you take better care of yourself. If you do need care, you can expect treatment that gets you back on your feet as soon as possible. At Kaiser Permanente, great care and more competitive rates work together to help you be your healthiest.
