Health and wellness
YMCA Healthy Kids Day: On April 29, Kaiser Permanente will provide free bike helmets and helmet fittings to kids at various YMCA locations throughout Washington.
Healthy cooking classes: Learn to cook delicious meals that nourish your body without growing your waistline. Attend cooking classes in Tacoma sponsored by Kaiser Permanente. Classes are scheduled for Feb. 8, March 29, Oct. 4, and Dec. 6.
Fitness center discounts: This special resource gives you access to affordable options to get fit and have fun. You’ll find discounts on more than 10,000 fitness facilities nationwide, plus exercise videos and equipment for the perfect home workout.[iii]
Living well with a chronic condition workshops: These six-week, in-person group workshops help people learn how to manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, and improve their quality of life. Participants set goals and make plans to achieve them.
Inspiring articles: Our health blog always has lots of interesting new and archived articles.
Free library: For information you can trust about symptoms, tests, and medications, or to use health calculators and take quizzes, visit our free online health care library.

While we don’t have firm dates set, we have a number of other events planned for the year. These include:
Teddy bears clinics: To help your youngsters get comfortable with the medical experience, bring them to a Teddy Bear Clinic. Kids are invited to help a Kaiser Permanente provider perform a wellness exam on a toy bear using a stethoscope and other medical supplies. Kids get to keep their “patient” after the exam. Keep an eye out for announcements for a clinic in your neighborhood.
One shot for flu prevention: Come autumn, Kaiser Permanente and the Seattle Storm join forces for flu prevention. Find information about this event featuring members of the Storm, free flu shots, a pop-a-shot game, and more. Kaiser Permanente members and the general public are welcome.
